 In over 50 years of caring for tangible cultural heritage two issues have become the main focus:
• What material is involved? (objects, collections, interiors, art objects, etc.)
• What is the request? (transport, storage, exhibition, use, etc.)

All issues raised are approached from a perspective of ‘preventive conservation’ . Preventive conservation is the practice of ‘preventing extraneous decay to heritage objects. It is the most generic of all specialties in conservation and the care for collections. This is the backbone of all Jaap’s consultancy. Whether it involves the construction of a risk assessment, the development of a disaster recovery program, design of packing and packaging, project management, disaster recovery on site or as consultant, research into causes of damage, communicating with museums and organisations, there is a personalised solution to all problems that you may experience.
